FAQ
We've gathered the questions we get asked most.
How do I sign up?
Signing in with a Google or Kakao account automatically creates your account. You do not create a separate ID or password. On your first sign-in, we require confirmation that you are at least 14 years old and your consent to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. For the full flow, see Getting Started.
Is TLOG free?
Writing trading journal entries yourself is free and unlimited. Features like performance reports, chart replay, and exchange API sync — plus generous limits — come with the paid subscription; the free plan is limited to 3 CSV imports per month, 1 account, and 2 each of strategies, checklists, and tags. For the full comparison, see Plans & Billing.
How do I write a trading journal entry?
Just enter the symbol, quantity, and price, and the app automatically calculates the average price, P&L, and ending balance. Always enter quantity as a positive number and use the direction (buy/sell) button to distinguish buying from selling. For a step-by-step guide, see How to Write a Journal Entry.
What's the difference between the daily journal and the trading journal?
The trading journal is where you record each individual trade, while the daily journal gathers a single day's pre-market plan, intraday notes, and end-of-day review on one screen. That day's trades, check-ins, and memos gather on a timeline automatically, and it's available on every plan. See Daily Journal.
What is the symbol journal?
It is the other tab inside Journal, organized around a symbol instead of a day. Each symbol gets an A4 note where you keep company research and your own trading rules, and you can pull the memos and trade history you logged for that symbol into the document. It's available on every plan. See Symbol Journal.
What is the Lounge?
A community where you attach an analysis report or a P&L heatmap as a card, share it with other members, and talk it through in the comments. Reading and posting are available on every plan. Stock tips, buy/sell solicitation, and trade signaling are not allowed, and reported posts may be hidden after review. See the Lounge guide.
If I attach a record in the Lounge, how public does it become?
Lounge posts are visible to all logged-in members. Only reports you have already made public can be attached, and the QR and link on the card open them (turning sharing off blocks the link too). A heatmap is posted as a single rendered image of the month you pick. What you attach is frozen as of the time you posted, so editing the original does not change a card that is already up.
Will someone know if I follow them?
No. Only you can see who you follow, and no notification is sent to them. Who follows you is not public either. To see only posts from traders you follow, choose the Following category in the Lounge feed.
How is P&L calculated?
If an ending balance and the immediately preceding balance are available, it is calculated from the difference between them (balance method); otherwise it is calculated from the exit price, average price, and quantity (price method). If neither is available, the entry stays Open and is filled in once the exit is confirmed.
Can I bring in trade history I've already accumulated?
Yes. You can import it all at once from a CSV or Excel file by selecting a wallet and uploading. Identical trades are automatically de-duplicated. See CSV Import.
On the dashboard, do 'week' and 'month' mean this week and this month?
No. They are rolling windows counted backward including today. Week is the last 7 days, month is the last 30 days, year is the last 365 days, and day is the last 24 hours. You can also specify a custom period.
Can I use multiple currencies together?
You can assign a currency to each wallet, and once you set a base currency, screens that mix currencies are converted into a single currency for display. Amounts are stored in their original currency and only converted when viewed. See Wallet & Currency Settings.
Can I see Korean stock and ETF prices too?
Yes. Korean stocks, ETFs, and ETNs are recognized by name or 6-digit ticker and are shown as KRX public-data daily candles in the live chart and trade replay. Search ETFs by their full name (e.g. KODEX 200). Crypto prices are available down to minute and hour candles from Bybit, MEXC, and Bitget. See TradeView & live charts.
How many wallets (accounts) can I create?
The free plan gets 1. The paid plan also includes 1, and you can buy additional accounts one at a time under Settings → Billing, up to 5 in total. Removing an account never deletes accounts or records you already created. See Plans & Billing for details.
Can anyone use analysis reports?
Analysis reports are a paid-plan feature. You can try them out in advance with a 2-day free trial. For how to use them, see Analysis Reports.
How does the free trial work?
You can try every paid feature for 2 days without a credit card, offered once per account (and once per email as well). When the trial ends, you are automatically returned to the free plan.
If I cancel my subscription, will I get a refund?
If it is within 7 days of payment and you have not used the service, you receive a full refund; otherwise, we refund on a pro-rated basis for the period used. For detailed criteria, see Refund Policy.
If I delete my account, do my records disappear immediately?
If you sign in again within 3 days of deletion, you can recover your records; after 3 days, they are permanently deleted.
Can I automatically import trade history from exchanges?
Yes. If you register a read-only API key for Bybit, MEXC, or Bitget, your fills are imported automatically (paid plan, up to 5). The available lookup period is up to the last 2 years for Bybit, 30 days for MEXC spot and 90 days for futures, and 90 days for Bitget; older history can be supplemented with CSV. See Exchange API Sync.
My exchange API key registration keeps failing.
There are three most common causes. ① The key lacks the Spot View Account Details permission — this permission is required even when importing only futures. ② The key has an IP restriction— the server cannot query it, so issue the key without IP restrictions. ③ A key with trade or withdrawal permissions — for security, registration is rejected. The failure message also shows the exchange's response code, so check it.
Why do I enter an initial balance when syncing with an exchange?
The ending balance is calculated by starting from the initial balance and accumulating exit P&L in chronological order. Futures and leveraged trading in particular have large P&L swings relative to balance, so accumulating from 0 without an initial balance can distort total balance and drawdown statistics. We recommend entering an initial balance when registering a sync. It is the same concept as the initial balance in CSV import.
How often does syncing happen?
Manual sync can be run at 1-minute intervals, and it also syncs automatically every hour. If there is a lot of history, only part is imported at a time and the next sync continues from there. You can also run it immediately with the sync button next to the dashboard title.
How are futures trades displayed?
To distinguish them from spot, .Pis appended after the symbol (based on USDT perpetuals). Futures P&L is calculated based on fill prices, and funding fees are not reflected.
Does TLOG give investment advice?
No. TLOG is a supporting tool for recording and analyzing your trades, and the statistics and analysis provided are for reference only. They do not constitute investment advice or solicitation or guaranteed returns, and responsibility for investment decisions and their outcomes rests with the user.
