How do I write a journal entry?

Add a new trade from the Journal menu in your dashboard. Enter the symbol, entry price, exit price, and quantity, and your P&L and return are calculated automatically.

Can I upload trades in bulk with a CSV?

Yes. Use the CSV upload on the Journal screen to import the trade history you downloaded from your broker all at once.

I entered a trade incorrectly. Can I fix it?

Click the row in the trade list to edit its values inline or delete it.

How do I add a wallet (account)?

In the wallet selector of the journal form you can add, rename, or delete wallets. Trades are stored under the selected wallet name.

How are win rate and P&L calculated?

Based on closed trades, win rate is winning trades ÷ total trades, and cumulative P&L is the sum of net profit and loss.

What plans do you offer?

We offer two plans — free and paid. Writing trading journal entries yourself is free and unlimited, while features like performance reports, chart replay, and exchange API sync come with the paid plan. I want to cancel my subscription.

You can cancel anytime from the Settings page, and your current benefits remain until the end of the paid period.

Question 9

How do I sign in?

Accepted Answer

TLOG uses Google or Kakao sign-in. Since only social login is supported and there is no separate password, you never need to create or recover one.

How do I delete my account?

Accepted Answer

You can delete your account from the Settings page. Deleting is irreversible — your recorded trade data cannot be recovered, so please proceed carefully.

Do I need to register a card for the free trial?

Accepted Answer

No. The free trial works without registering a card, and no automatic payment occurs.

Is my data deleted when the free trial ends?

Accepted Answer

No. Even after the free trial expires, your data is not deleted and stays on our servers. Note that upon account deletion it is kept for 3 days and then permanently removed.

I'd like to learn how to use the journal in detail.

Just enter a symbol and your holding quantity and average price fill in automatically; on exit, P&L and ending balance are calculated for you. See the full walkthrough in the Trading Journal Guide.

Can I record multiple currencies together, like KRW and USD?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You can set a currency and exchange rate per wallet, so US stocks are recorded in dollars and Korean stocks in won. Trades are saved in their original currency, and the dashboard converts them to your chosen base currency so you see your total assets at a glance.

Which exchanges does API sync support? What about Upbit and brokerages?

We currently support Bybit, MEXC, and Bitget via read-only API keys. Some exchanges (such as Upbit) and Korean brokerages forbid registering or delegating your API key to a third-party service in their terms, so we don't support syncing them. This is a terms-and-legal constraint rather than something we're waiting to build, so CSV import is the supported path for those accounts. The Journal's CSV upload accepts the export formats of major Korean brokerages including Kiwoom, Korea Investment, Samsung, Mirae Asset, and Toss Securities.

How do I issue an exchange API key?

Issue a read-only key from the API management menu of each exchange (Bybit, MEXC, Bitget), then register it on the Journal > Import screen. For security, keys with trading or withdrawal permissions are rejected. Step-by-step instructions are in the issuance guide next to the import screen. Exchange sync is available on the paid plan, up to 5 connections.

Question 17

My exchange API key registration keeps failing.

Accepted Answer

The three most common causes: ① Insufficient permission — the Spot "View Account Details" permission is required, even when importing futures only. ② IP restriction — if you lock the key to an IP, our server can't query it, so issue it without an IP restriction. ③ Trading/withdrawal permissions included — these are rejected for security. The failure message includes the exchange's response code, so check that; if it's hard to resolve, let us know via 1:1 chat.

Question 18

Sync doesn't run, or only some trades come in.

Accepted Answer

Manual sync has a 1-minute cooldown. If you have many fills, only some are imported at once and the next sync continues from there. It also syncs automatically every hour. For history beyond each exchange's queryable window (Bybit: last 2 years, MEXC: spot 30 days / futures 90 days, Bitget: 90 days), please use CSV import.

Question 19

Why do I enter an initial balance when connecting?

Ending balance is computed by starting from your initial balance and accumulating realized P&L in chronological order. For futures and leveraged trades especially, balance swings are large, so accumulating from 0 without an initial balance can distort your total-asset and drawdown stats. We recommend entering an initial balance when connecting. If your journal already has a running balance, it continues from that value.

Question 20

The payment window won't open, or payment fails.

Accepted Answer

Turn off your browser's pop-up blocker and try again. It also helps to check your card limit and whether overseas payments are blocked. If it keeps failing, tell us your card issuer and the error message via 1:1 chat and we'll look into it quickly.

Question 21

How do refunds work?

If you haven't used the service within 7 days of payment, you get a full refund; otherwise we refund the unused period on a pro-rated basis. You can cancel yourself via Settings > Billing > "Cancel this month," and even after canceling you keep access until the paid period ends. See the Refund Policy for detailed terms.

Question 22

My ending balance differs from my actual balance.

Accepted Answer

Records built via import (CSV or exchange API) start from the initial balance you entered and accumulate P&L, so if you didn't set a starting value it may differ from your real balance. Deposits and withdrawals aren't reflected automatically either. If you enter the ending balance directly on a trade in the journal, accumulation resumes from that value — so correct it once on a reference trade.

Can I preview before signing up?

Question 24

After syncing, a position stays "Open" forever.

Accepted Answer

If you entered before the queryable window, or a buy/sell quantity is off due to an initial-sync data error, the net position won't reach 0 and an already-closed symbol can stay "Open." If it is actually closed, open the last journal entry for that symbol, change its status to "Closed," and save. When the dialog warns that quantity remains, click confirm — the remaining quantity is cleared to 0 and the Open marker disappears. New fills accumulate normally from the next sync.

Question 25

How many accounts can I use?

Accepted Answer

The paid plan includes one account, and you can buy more one at a time under Settings > Billing, up to 5 in total. When you add one, only the days remaining in the current billing period are charged, and it is included in your recurring payment from the next billing date. If your next billing date is only days away and the pro-rated amount falls below the card minimum (₩100), the account is added with no charge this time and billed normally from the next billing date. Removing one applies from the next billing date with no refund for the period already paid. Even if you go over the limit, accounts and records you already created are never deleted.
